Reception

We know that the children have worked really hard in recent weeks and deserve a rest, but we also know that some might want to keep their skills up over Summer to help them prepare for next year.  We have devised a sheet to help and there is also our Activities page that has links to various different, fun learning sites.

Kirklees Youth Alliance have set up an online programme that will help keep children aged 4-11 busy.  This can be found by clicking on the icon below.   Each weekday a new video is uploaded with new ideas.  There is also a 12-18 site for older siblings.

About Reception......

Reception is our first year of full time school.  We are still working on the Early Years Foundation Stage, continuing our learning from whichever setting we were in before.  The activities that are available help us to learn independently and the adult help guide us to make the most of our learning.  Our learning takes place both inside and outside the classroom.

To help us get ready for our journey through school, we have Maths and Phonics lessons each day.  We practise our letter formation, writing, reading and maths.   We also go into our Computer suite once a week for our computing lesson.  We go into the Star of the Week assembly on Friday with the rest of school.

You can find our more about Reception on this page.
