About Year Five....

We are so excited to be welcoming back our new Year 5 pupils! In Year 5 we move into Upper Key Stage Two and the curriculum starts to prepare us for Year 6.

One of the exciting things about Year 5 is that we go swimming once a week for one of our PE sessions. Hopefully we will be able to start these soon and we will keep you updated as we find out more information.  We also have more sporting events open to us and get to join Drama Club if we want to.

As Year 5 pupils we get the opportunity to become Playleaders and organise games in the playground for the younger children. We will have to wait until the guidance allows us to mix with other bubbles, but we can't wait to get this up and running this year!

You can find out more about Year 5 by looking at the other information on the page.

Homework

Our aim is to upload the homework weekly onto this section.

Spellings are given out on a Tuesday and there will be a test the following Tuesday.

Maths and English are both given out on a Wednesday and need to be handed in the following Wednesday.

Maths

Some weeks, we will give the children sheets with 1, 2 and 3 stars. When this is the case, they do not need to complete all three sheets, just one of them. Where possible, we will also provide the answers. This is a guide to help you as parent; you are not expected to mark their work.

English

Just like Maths, we will give the children sheets with 1, 2 and 3 stars. When this is the case, they do not need to complete all three sheets, just one of them. Again, where possible, we will provide the answers. Since English isn't either right or wrong and there are many possibilities, there could be correct answers that are not on the answer sheet.
