Lunch at School

School Lunches are free to all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.   Children in these year groups must opt for School Meals every day or packed lunches every day due to the terms of the Government's Universal Infant Free School Meals funding.

At Rowley Lane we use Meal Selector so pupils order their meal each morning during register time. This helps to reduce waste and also helps to ensure each child gets their preferred menu choice.

As Meal Selector is linked to ParentPay, children in Years 3-6 do not need to keep to an agreed meal pattern, they can select a school meal or bring a packed lunch on any day. Each day that a meal is selected the charge will be deducted from the ParentPay balance.  Meals are £2.55 per day from September 2023.

School meals should always be paid for in advance, please check your child's ParentPay balance regularly and top up when running low, the account should always remain in credit.

An example page from Meal Selector is shown.

Hot lunches are available for children in Nursery (the meal cost is £2.55 from September 2023). Children who choose this option need to have a school meal on all the days that they stay for lunch. The menus for Nursery children can be viewed on the Nursery Year Group page click here

The School Meals menus from December 2023 to July 2024 can be viewed below; the menus rotate every 3 weeks
